Stavanger, Norway's No. 1 Oil City. Most people also associate Stavanger with the Gladmatfestivalen, which is one of Scandinavia's leading food festivals. Every other year, "Offshore Northern Sea" is held, which is the world's largest exhibition and conference for the energy sector. Choosing the right size for a poster or canvas can be difficult when you only see numbers. How big is 50×70 cm on the wall? And how dominant will a 100×150 cm poster be in the living room?
This size guide gives you a simple visual clue to how much space the different poster and canvas formats actually take up – so you can choose the right size the first time.
What you should think about when choosing a size
Small posters fit well on narrow walls, on shelves, or as part of a picture wall. Medium-sized posters work perfectly above dressers, desks, and sofas. Large posters are eye-catchers that really set the mood in the room – and do best on open wall surfaces.

21 × 30 cm (A4)
Perfect for small walls, shelves or as part of a collage. Discreet and elegant.
30 × 40 cm
A popular size that fits well alone or together with other posters in a picture wall.
40 × 50 cm
Good balance between visibility and flexibility. Fits nicely over furniture.
50 × 70 cm
One of the most commonly used poster sizes. Makes a clear statement without dominating the room.
70 × 100 cm
A real eye-catcher. Best suited for larger walls where the poster can breathe.
100 × 150 cm
For those who want maximum effect. This size almost functions as a work of art in itself.
Tips before you order
Measure the wall where the poster will hang, and mark the size with masking tape before ordering. This will help you quickly see if the format fits the room and surrounding furniture.

Right of withdrawal/Satisfaction guarantee: You have a 14-day full right of return on all goods purchased in our store. The right of withdrawal requires that you notify us within 14 days of receipt of the goods that you want to exercise the right of withdrawal. (NB: For personalized products, that is, products where we have customized text or images for you, the satisfaction guarantee/right of withdrawal does not apply. This is because these products are personally customized for you and cannot be reused for anything else). For the right of withdrawal to apply, the product must be in the condition you received it. That is, unused and not broken or damaged. Any return shipping must be paid by you. You are responsible for ensuring that the product is properly packaged for return transport. Warranty and complaints: You have a 2-year right of complaint after you have received the goods. The defect must exist when you receive the product, and it is your responsibility to prove the defect if required (e.g. with a picture). If the product has defects or deficiencies, you can demand correction of the defect, receive a new equivalent product or cancel the purchase.
Uncollected packages: Goods that are returned to us because a customer has not received or collected the goods will be charged a fee of NOK 300. This is to cover the double shipping cost (round trip) as well as for picking and packing the goods. Risk during transport Plakatbar.no is responsible for the transport risk from our warehouse to you. You are responsible for the risk of any return to us.
Most of our designs can be ordered as either a poster or canvas. Many people wonder what the difference is between a poster and a canvas.
Poster:
- We print on a Premium 230 gram quality paper with a beautiful matte surface. The paper is produced by Felix Schoeller Group in Germany, one of the world's largest companies in terms of production of paper materials. They have all the biggest certificates and awards in terms of quality, durability and environment/sustainability. The paper is unsurpassed in terms of sharpness and color reproduction.
- A poster must be hung with something. The most common is to use a frame. The frame is not included in the price, but we are one of the few players in this market that offers free mounting of the poster in a frame if you buy both the poster and the frame from us. We have black, white, silver, oak and gold frames. We also sell poster strips that can be used for hanging.
Canvas:
- We print your image on heavy canvas. The canvas is made of cotton and provides a fantastic image experience, with beautiful colors and great sharpness.
- The canvas has a matte surface, which means you avoid reflections from sunlight and other light sources.
- Prints on canvas do not fade and you will preserve your image for many years.
- After printing, the canvas is stretched on a strong blind frame. For most formats, we use a 40mm thick frame, so that a great depth effect is achieved when the frame is hung on the wall. We then mount it on a hanger with steel wire and your artwork can be hung directly on the wall.
Framed posters: You can also buy frames for your poster in our store.
Framed canvas: If you buy canvas from us, it will be delivered pre-stretched on a blind frame (included in the price). If you want a visible frame around the canvas, you can also buy one of our frames together with the canvas - and we will mount it in the frame for you.
