Jenny Nyström was a Swedish artist and illustrator, born on June 13, 1854 in Kalmar and died on January 17, 1946. She is particularly known for her Christmas motifs. Her interpretation of Santa Claus shaped the modern Swedish conception of the figure, and she became an important part of how Christmas was visualized in Scandinavia.
