1. Evard Munch - Melancholy
Edvard Munch's popular motif Melancholy. The painting was shown in Berlin in the fall of 1892, when Munch's exhibition at the Verein Berlin Künstler was heavily criticized in the press and closed after just a few days.
2. JC Dahl - Shipwreck on the Norwegian coast
"Shipwreck off the Norwegian Coast" is a painting by JC Dahl from 1832 and is one of his most famous works.
3. JC Dahl - From Stalheim
Johan Christian Dahl's journey around Norway in 1826 left a lasting impression on his art. No less than sixteen years later, his drawings of the view from Stalheim down towards the narrow Nærødalen in Sogn formed the basis for one of his most complex paintings.
4. JC Dahl - The Cottage at Filefjeld
"The Cabin on Filefjeld" is a painting by JC Dahl from 1851 from the National Romantic period. The original painting hangs in the National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design.
The picture depicts the mountain Støgonøse (1433 m. above sea level) on Filefjell in Valdres.
5. Grindelwald Glacier - by Thomas Fearnley
"Grindelwald Glacier" is a painting by Thomas Fearnley from 1838 and depicts the glacier in the canton of Bern in Switzerland.
It was one of the first paintings by Norwegian artists to be purchased by the National Gallery.
6. Far, Far Away He Saw Something Bright and Glittering, Theodor Kittelsen
Motif by Theodor Kittelsen. Theodor Kittelsen was a Norwegian painter , cartoonist and author.
Kittelsen is particularly known for his beloved drawings of Asbjørnsen and Moe's fairy tales and his evocative paintings of people and trolls, mythical creatures, animals and landscapes.

7. "The Bridal Journey in Hardanger" by Hans Gude and Adolph Tidemand
"Bride Procession in Hardanger", also called the Bride Procession in Hardanger, is one of the most famous Norwegian paintings. It was painted in 1848 by the painters Adolph Tidemand and Hans Gude in collaboration.
8.Madonna by Edvard Munch
"Madonna" is one of Edvard Munch's most famous paintings. There are five versions of the painting, all painted in the period 1894–1895 and all in oil on canvas.
9. Winter Night in Rondane by Harald Sohlberg
One of Norway's most famous paintings, by Harald Sohlberg, on square canvas.
This motif was named "Norway's National Painting" in 1995 after a listeners' poll on NRK.
10. The Linden Birch by Thomas Fearnley
At Slinde Farm, at the very end of the Sognefjord, stood an enormous birch tree that was believed to stand on sacred ground. Several painters have immortalized the tree, but the most famous painting is probably by Thomas Fearnley.
The tree that fell in a storm in 1874 lives on through paintings and poems.

Adolph Tidemand depicted the simple Norwegian peasant culture and in this painting has depicted an everyday situation from a Norwegian living room in the 19th century in a way that creates peace and harmony.

Høyfjell is a major work by Hans Gude who played an important role in 19th-century Norwegian landscape art.
14. Christian Krohg - The Struggle For Existence
The original is currently exhibited by the National Gallery, but you can have your own version printed either on poster or canvas .
"The Struggle for Existence" is one of the few social paintings in which Krohg takes as his starting point concrete observations from real life. The artist himself saw this motif, the distribution of bread to the poor, which really took place from a bakery on the corner of Skippergaten and Karl Johan. Apparently, he painted several preliminary studies with the motif in mind.
